Math Tutoring
Math tutoring for dyslexic students focuses on a variety of concepts and computation skills during each session. Connections to previously learned concepts and areas of strength allow students to learn new material. Manipulatives and visuals are used to teach always moving from the concrete the semi-concrete to the abstract. Mnemonics and patterns are also used to teach basic facts. Although topics being taught at school are taken into consideration, tutoring sessions typically address where the student is currently functioning rather than where he or she should be functioning.
