What Can Teachers Do?

Teachers should make themselves aware of the signs and symptoms of Dyslexia. They should know basic phonics rules including the six types of syllables and the five ways to divide a word into syllables. They should be able to explain why words are spelled certain ways and the importance of hand and eye dominance. Teachers should also be able to use direct and explicit language in teaching a student how to write a paragraph and/or an essay.
